TreeTop Walk + Dinner @ Casy house 181107

SG- This is my first time writing a blog in this place. Kinda of funny & exciting coz I only write in my own blog then. Anyway, just to recap a recent trip last month where we go for a little hiking trip to the HSBC treetop walk.

It was a cloudy afternoon where CW suggested that we went for a little hiking and trekking at MacRitchie to the HSBC Treetop and to see the suspension bridge. We met up at the carpark off Venue Drive and start walking from there. Within a few minutes of walking, the sky being to give us shower of blessings to bring away the heat of the afternoon. And we are really trying to walk faster to reach our destination. That will be 2.5km away~~ hehe.=)

Thanks God that Angela brought us some pocho and some of us brought umbrella too. At least, we are not as wet like 落汤鸡, just our lower garment are not spare from the rain but at least not so bad lah. Nevertheless, this is the first time I joined the CG for a informal outing, quite interesting to me. I heard Caleb humming along the way and found Ben and Sharon spearing ahead of the trail. KY umbrella look too big for her, and kinda cover her entirely like a shell.. haha..=) CW and Angela look cute to me as both of them are in red pocho... =) BTW, I think Gerald and HL are enjoying their walk in the rain... =)

On the way, we spotted a mother trying to shelter her two kids from the heavy rain under a tree but we can see the kids are shivering from the cold rain and getting wet. Some of us offer her some pocho and at least her kids are covered while waiting for her hubby to catch up with them. At least we did something meaningful beside walking lor...

After a little uphill walk, we finally reached our destination, the Treetop Walk but the entrance is closed due to the thunder storm raging out there...sighx... We waited along with other visitors while listening to KY on her recent incident ~~ Sorry, it is a secret!!..hahaha..=)

After an hour of waiting and the rain and sun kept teasing on us, we decided to head back to our cars since it is closing at 5pm. Most of us went home to bath and change while KY, Casy and I went to Casey house for our dinner preparation.

I was given the privilege to learn how to slice the chicken, chop the long beans, smash the garlic and cutting the Onions..haha.. Never did some much food preparation in my life except BBQ chicken wings...=) Thanks to Casey who show me and KY how to do the food preparation while she "一脚踢"to cook for us 8-9 dishes. Wonderful leh.. and really appreciate her for preparing soup for all of us too.

The gang check-in for dinner at about 7pm and indeed, we are all very impressed by all the dishes all done by Casey alone. Thanks God who provide us a great dinner thru her...hehe..=)

Caleb later brought Ben and I to buy Rochor Road 豆花 for supper in his Super Turbo Lancer!! ... keke...=) It was a great day to end with a bloated stomach and a great fellowship... =)

Mission

Hey people,

Bless my soul. Today's Prayer meeting about missions was really insteresting. It's all about the heart of God. I'm so inspired to GO. Anyway was reading this magazine from AM-CCSM. There's this article from a missionary in Tibet, talks about sky burial, like what caleb mentioned the last time.

Check out this video clip which talks about death from a tibetan view. insteresting

Seafood Dinner in Johor

For those of you who couldn't make it for the dinner at Johor, we missed you, and look what you've missed! Thanks to Caleb's good recommendation, we came to this kelong in (Pair Puteh ??) and have a sumptuous seafood dinner. God really bless Malaysia with abundance of food. Here's evidence of His provision. (see above)

But before dinner, we need to practise our national sports - shopping! Angie & CW ,Caleb & Casey got some really good buy in donuts and cereals. While me and Val do our girls stuff.... shopping for clothes.
Here's a not-so romantic sunset pictures of the couples. Angie & CW, Caleb & Casey. Apparently, the island right across the sea about 2 miles away is our beloved Pulau Ubin. You can see coast guards roaming the sea borders. We were thinking if the coast guards could just cruise up here and order their seafood dinner. Life of coast guards' not too bad after all.

Total cost for the dinner was RM 222.16 (right, angie?) which is only about SGD 17 per person. We just love the food there. Especially the fried rice and prawn herbal soup. The prawns were huge! Channel U had been there featuring the restuarant as well. yea.. and before heading back to Singapore we went for a car wash for CW & Caleb's car. I forgot to mention this, the restuarant is located right into and out of the (i think palm trees or coconuts) plantation from the main road. We have to drive through a golf course then hit a not paved, gravel road before we see signs pointing to the restuarant. Quite a bumpy ride. It's even out of CW's GPS. Even the satellites coudn't capture it on to the map. Once again, we've to thank Caleb for his efficient and wise guidance. :)
Here's me and valerie(right). We concluded that this is definitely worth the trip and we should do it again!

Covenant logo redesign

As we all know, the church has been requesting for submission of redesign of covenant logo for its 30th anniversary next year. And since i'm rather 'free' at work, i took out my freehand and played along. Here's my little contribution. :)

Thought provoking presentation

Hi brothers and sisters!

Like to share with you this presentation at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ljbI-363A2Q

It was created by a teacher named Karl Fisch for his faculty meeting. And he has listed down the sources of figure he used in the presentation at http://thefischbowl.blogspot.com/2006/08/did-you-know.html

Truthfully, I am not looking forward to the day when a $1000 computer exceeds the computational capacities of human brain....

Regards,
Charlotte
